How do you usually celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? You probably put on a lot of green, drink as much as you can, boot and rally, then eat something that’s been boiled in a pot for two days. Technically, the 2015 North Texas Irish Festival is a week too early to the party, but at least it will allow you to celebrate in a way that legitimately reflects Irish heritage. The festival is courtesy of the Southwest Celtic Music Association and will feature a long, impressive roster of authentic Celtic musical acts. Some of the world’s best Irish musicians and dancers will grace 13 stages throughout the fair, as guests feast on Irish stew, Shepherd’s pies, fish and chips — and yes, guzzle beer, too. There will also be blacksmithing demonstrations, whiskey tastings and rounds of Gaelic football. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. Friday, with more fun at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Fair Park (3809 Grand Ave.). Tickets are $20 per day, $25 for two-day passes and $30 for three-day passes. More information at NTIF.org.
