For generations, the works of Shakespeare have been lauded as tales and tragedies that will forever remain relevant. It’s impossible to argue with that when modern works of all media set in realms that seem to be worlds apart from the Globe Theatre heavily employ the storylines ol’ Will brought so much life to. The television series, Sons of Anarchy, based upon a bunch of murderous, sex-starved bikers in Northern Cali couldn’t have been more ripped-from-the-folio if it had tried. So, if the treelined hills of Charming offered a perfect setting, then surely Dallas’ finest bookstore-bar-coffee shop-cassette outlet-live music venue will do just fine also, right? Wild Detectives brings the exceptional relevance of Much Ado About Nothing to their Oak Cliff space, and promise to pack some laughs into it as well. The bookstore’s Shakespeare at the Bar series might be the most concrete proof that the Bard’s work is perfect for all seasons and settings. Monday, March 23, 7:30pm. Wild Detectives. 34 W. 8th Street, Dallas, TX, 75208

Mon., March 23, 8 p.m., 2015
