What’s that old saying? Whoever invented high heels was a total asshat with a low pain threshold and a penchant for masochism. Right, that’s the one. Anyone who has ever donned a pair of heels taller than 2.5 inches can attest that if the angles, padding and stars aren’t all aligned properly, feet, knees, hips and back will most definitely ache. To what extent is undefinable. Instructor MaryBeth Smith can actually change all those aches and pains Saturday as she teaches the Feldenkrais Method of walking in high heels safely and painlessly. Sounds impossible, but Smith offers a course that examines body awareness as well as bio-mechanics and physics. The High Heel Workshop takes place at MoveStudio, 17062 Preston Road, Suite 108. Regular registration is $40; $50 at the door if space is available. For more information, call 972-732-0206 or email staff@movestudio.com.
