I like how kids always name their toys based on what they are. They call their dolls Dolly, a stuffed horse becomes Horsey and plastic dump trucks are lovingly known as Dumpy. That’s why kids will feel right at home in the audience at Sesame Street Live: Elmo’s Green Thumb, showing Friday through Sunday at Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie, 1001 Performance Drive. The show follows Elmo as he attempts to find a home for his newest pal, Sunny the Sunflower, who has quickly outgrown his flower pot. In a bizarre Honey, I Shrunk the Kids moment, Elmo and his friends are accidentally shrunken with a magical spell, leaving them looking up to ladybugs and beetles that suddenly seem giant. And, don’t worry, all the familiar faces—Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar, Bert and Ernie—will be there too. Not only will the kiddies have a blast, but they’ll learn lessons about patience, overcoming their fears and how ecosystems work. Showtimes are 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, and 10:30 a.m., 2 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $12 to $34. Call 214-373-8000 or visit ticketmaster.com. Fri., Feb. 27, 10:30 a.m. & 7 p.m.; Sat., Feb. 28, 10:30 a.m., 2 & 5:30 p.m., 2009
