Enough with the stacks of Disney DVDs and the XBox’ed Netflix. Go out to a movie. Go out to some kids movies. You know, with the kids. Where they can see awesome family flicks with other kids and their families. Where they might discover that one movie moment that lives on with them long after they go to bed that night or even past high school. Let them go to two or three in a row if they like…after all, admission for kids and ‘dults at the 25th Annual KidFilm Festival is only $3 per program. (Honestly, I don’t think children’s admission was that cheap when I was a knee-high.) It’s a weekend retreat they won’t soon forget with Call of the Wild, Ballet Shoes, an animation showcase, The Snow Queen, Finn on the Fly, a 70th anniversary sing-a-long showing of The Wizard of Oz and more. Littles and bigs alike will surely find something to tickle their cinematic fancy thanks to the USA Film Festival, so prepare with a brief tutorial on arm-rest sharing and head to the Angelika at Mockingbird Station Saturday and Sunday. Programs begin at 12:30 p.m. For a complete schedule, call 214-821-FILM.
