Some jobs are perfectly suited for narration. Or rather, they’re the kinds of jobs where it would totally rock to have some guy with a cool voice come in and read aloud while everyone works. Envelope stuffing, Twinkie stuffing, all manner of assembly line stuffing jobs, really. Others, like air-traffic controlling, speech therapy and news casting (they are already reading aloud after all) aren’t quite suited for story time. But, Denton Community Theatre takes audiences to a place where the air is thick with humidity and tobacco, and as the workers roll cigars (kinda like stuffing) and listen, a man brings Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina to life…in more ways than one. Experience Anna In the Tropics 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through February 1 at the Campus Theatre, 214 W. Hickory in Denton. For mature audiences, due to subject matter. Tickets are $10 to $17. Call 940-382-1915 or visit campustheatre.com.
Fri., Jan. 23, 2 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Jan. 23. Continues through Feb. 1, 2009
