Most people raised on this side of the pond can attribute their love of British television to one source, PBS. From Monty Python’s Flying Circus and Doctor Who to Keeping Up Appearances and Fawlty Towers, our appreciation of the uniqueness of British television has grown over the past 35 years thanks to KERA programming. If you depend on KERA to bring you the latest and greatest in British shows but can’t wait for the new seasons to start, then head on up to The British Emporium in Grapevine (140 North Main St.) for a treat this week. Vice President of Television Programming (and Tellysptting blogger) Bill Young will host a special Holiday Tea where you’ll be privy to an exclusive preview of new British shows coming to KERA Channel 13. Stop in for a bit of tea and holiday refreshments Thursday at 7 p.m. at The British Emporium in Grapevine. The event is free and open to the public. Call 817-421-2311 or visit british-emporium.com.
