Games of chance and great causes go together as well as burgers and Sharpie pens at Adair’s Saloon. Sure, one could roll the dice an hour north of Dallas in hope of supporting the cause of their bank account in a casino. But that gambler has to deal with the fact they spent hours in Oklahoma, and that the jackpot they never hit ended up benefiting the house instead of a new media room at home. This is just one example of how gambling for charity is a win-win scenario. Sunny Place For Shady People 2012 will provide people a chance to skip the waste of gas and dashed dreams that typically accompany a night of casino hopping. Of course, supporting children’s cancer research and the Carson Leslie Foundation isn’t really much of a gamble, is it? This worthy night of fun begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the f.i.g., 1807 Ross Ave, Suite 250. Go to clfnd.ejoinme.org/shady for tickets and information.
