The West Village may seem more crowded than usual tonight, but before getting too upset about the traffic and cursing the fact that you have to park on the roof of the parking garage, rest assured that all the commotion is for a good cause. The neighborhood is hosting its third annual Taste of West Village tonight from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., benefiting the North Texas Food Bank. Entry to the event is free, and a $1 donation to the North Texas Food Bank yields samples at each tasting station, including grilled chicken satay, Kobe beef sliders, brisket tacos, Vietnamese coffee, blood orange gelato and more. Cork Wine Bar will be out, serving up French Maid merlot and chardonnay and P.D. Johnson’s will be handing out complimentary beer. If you’re feeling a bit more generous, a $5 donation can be made at the North Texas Food Bank table; the donation enters you into a drawing to win dinner at a West Village restaurant. The Josh Goode Band, singer/songwriter Brad Thompson and acoustic act Greg Luce will provide the music.
