Accountants and civil servants seem to be unlikely action stars. But everyone has a hot button, and in the play Unnecessary Farce, an accountant goes to heroic lengths to catch and confront her arch-nemesis: an embezzling mayor. The comedic cast converges in two adjoining hotel rooms and enlists two rookie cops to help bring him down, featuring many pratfalls and acts of farcical high jinks along the way. Unnecessary Farce is at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and 3 and 8 p.m. Saturdays through August 23 at Circle Theatre, 230 W. Fourth St. in Fort Worth. Tickets are $20 to $30.
