The restaurant: Café Lago
The cause: Fighting breast cancer
Café Lago owner Gabriela Pataro, whose sister was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer last year, wore a pink shirt celebrating breast cancer patients during this past weekend’s Race for the Cure. She’s now posted that shirt (washed first, we hope) at her restaurant’s counter as a way of reminding patrons that’s she’s still collecting checks for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.

The restaurant: Sullivan’s Steakhouse
The cause: Fighting breast cancer
Throughout October, Sullivan’s Steakhouse is offering three-course Palate in the Pink meals, including a choice of starter, entrée and dessert for $39.95. For each Palate in the Pink meal sold, Sullivan’s will donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, with a minimum guaranteed contribution of $50,000.

The restaurant: Stephen Pyles
The cause: Combating hunger
Stephan Pyles is participating in the Taste of NFL North Texas Dinner series on Oct. 21, offering a $125 prix-fixe dinner at 6 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the North Texas Food Bank and the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

The restaurant: Asian Mint
The cause: Public education
To celebrate six years of community and customer loyalty, Asian Mint is donating a portion of October’s sales to donorchoose.org, directly benefiting classrooms in Dallas Independent School District’s high poverty schools.

The restaurant: Tiff’s Treats
The cause: Make-A-Wish Foundation
Tiff’s Treats is opening a new Addison location and celebrating by partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Tiff’s Treats aims to raise money for 7-year-old Wish Kid Sarah, who hopes to go to Disney World. On Oct. 23, Tiff’s Treats will sell $3 boxes of cookies and donate the proceeds toward Sarah’s wish.
