Any event that opens with “this year promises even more jackassery than ever before” is one of those things you don’t want to miss. The 6th annual Rockers vs. Mods is just such an event. Picture lots of dudes and dudettes riding around on their Euro bikes and Italian scooters talking faux trash, throwing out “ouis” and “ciaos” and maybe even wearing a neckerchief. (“Optional” according to official Euro/Italiano bylaws.) Even if you don’t have a bike, you should go because it’s a rally and rock show featuring bands you’ve maybe even heard of like The Gorehounds, Glambilly, DJ Wild, The Dangits and more. Pit stops include the Belmont Hotel, Bryan Street Tavern and Vespa Dallas just to name a few. The entire event is free if you want to spectate and $25 if you want to enter your bike. (Prizes will be awarded.) Rockers vs. Mods runs three-days starting 6 p.m. Friday at the Belmont, 400 Fort Worth Ave., and ending Sunday some time after 3 p.m. That’ll make a lot more sense when you check out the complete schedule at rockersvsmods.com.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: March 30. Continues through April 1, 2012
