Thriller movies are scary. But thriller books are scarier. At thriller movies, you can close your eyes when you get freaked out at the scary parts. Close your eyes while you read a thriller book and you just piss yourself off because you keep unintentionally re-reading the part about nasty brain guts flying everywhere and landing on things. Or maybe that’s just me. At 7 p.m. Tuesday see author Brian Freeman read and sign his scary thriller book, Stalked, at Barnes & Noble, 7700 W. Northwest Highway. Alice Laussade writes about food, kids, music, and anything else she finds to be completely ridiculous. She created and hosts the Dallas event, Meat Fight, which is a barbecue competition and fundraiser that benefits the National MS Society. Last year, the event raised $100,000 for people living with MS, and 750 people could be seen shoving sausage links into their faces. And one time, she won a James Beard Award for Humor in Writing. That was pretty cool.
