After seeing The Ten (2007) a few months back, my perception of ventriloquist dummies changed forever. I used to think of them as sad relics of a dead art, but now I see them for what they really are: sexy objects of desire. Come on, 30 other people in America who saw The Ten, you know what I’m talking about! And I’m sure Jeff Dunham would agree that dummies are back in style—he somehow managed to become a successful ventriloquist in the 21st century. Thanks to his puppet friends, including a jalapeno pepper named José, Dunham’s DVD Arguing with Myself went quintuple-platinum, making it one of the biggest comedy titles, well, ever. See Dunham (and his friends) live at Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie at 8 p.m. Saturday. For tickets, call 214-373-8000 or visit ticketmaster.com.
