In Dallas, we’re lucky that our Turkey Trot is one of the biggest and best road races in the country. Featuring tens of thousands of runners winding their way through downtown, Deep Ellum and Oak Cliff, the Trot is a brutal eight mile run made a tad easier by the avid spectators scattered across the course. It’s a great way to start your Thanksgiving; if you can get through this, you’ll have earned all the turkey and stuffing you can eat. For the more sane among you, there is also a three mile race. The Trot begins 9 a.m. Thanksgiving morning at City Hall. For more information call the Downtown Dallas YMCA at 214-954-0500 or visit thetrot.com.
