Oh, Etsy — online purveyors of everything cute and unique and of that which inspires so much coveting from house guests and neighbors and random girls at the mall. I love you Etsy. I love your handmade diaper bags and kitschy cushions and striking scarves. I love that I can pore through your listings and piece together a room that is unique (at least until some a-hole posts it all on Pinterest) and I so enjoy feeling like I’m supporting somebody’s passion rather than Target’s bottom line. There is no downside to you, Etsy …except that I can’t frolic through actual aisles of handmade jewelry and inimitable home décor. So when I hear that Etsy is temporarily inhabiting a physical place — especially right before Mother’s Day — I start saving my cash. Fast. I’ve got a nice little fund established already for the Etsy Dallas Spring Bash, slated for 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday at The Palladium’s South Side Events Center, 1135 S. Lamar. Admission is free, and you’ll want to get there early for the best selection of the season’s trendiest and most distinctive pieces.

Sat., May 5, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., 2012
