If you go to YouTube’s home page this morning, you will notice at the top right-hand corner a video titled “Neiman Marcus — The Mystique Part 1.” It’s no amateur posting, of course, but one of six slick docu-ads Neimans is posting in the low-rent district as part of its 100th anniversary shindig. It’s getting plenty of pub this a.m., as it’s full of famous faces and heirs to the throne, among them Lawrence Marcus (son of Herbert), former buyers and exexs, and designers Karl Lagerfeld, Zac Posen and Giorgio Armani, whose visit to Dallas last week is the subject of this Women’s Wear Daily story this morning. (“I’ve seen the Dallas customer evolve and become more and more sophisticated over the last two decades,” Armani tells WWD, and, clearly, he’s never seen the Unfair Park wardrobe.)
Below’s the first part of the Neimans doc; there are several other chapters as well, some of which contain fascinating photos and historic newsweel footage of the downtown Dallas location. And the last one includes the best advice ever, courtesy Bobbi Brown: “Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.” –Robert Wilonsky
