Apologies for taking a few days too long to post our slide show from the Deep Ellum Mural Project kick-off, held Saturday night at Kettle Art in Deep Ellum, but better to post now than to … um … not post. Gloria Lovario captured this terrific two-fer from Cathey Miller, among those involved in the project destined to give Deep Ellum a facelift in coming days, as painting starts tomorrow and looks to wrap by August 1, the good Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise. Frank Campagna, who’s spearheading the extreme makeover, says Miller will be handling “doors and windows,” as all the artists — handpicked by Frank — were allowed to choose their spaces. And, yes, I think both of those would look terrific in my office, if you’re asking.
