Wasn’t all that excited about watching the Beijing 2008 Olympics opening ceremony on tape delay tonight, till I stumbled across this extraordinary 93-photo slide show courtesy a German newspaper — which, of course, features a couple of photos of Dallas Maverick Dirk Nowitzki, tapped a few days back as his homeland’s flag-bearer despite the naysaying of a few whiny babies. (Here’s more Dirk, if you just can’t get enough, just can’t get enough.) Because, really, nothing screams fantastic Friday night more than this photo all by its weird lonesome.
