A NEW YELP IN TOWN?
THERE COULD BE, IF YOU’RE DOWN TO
KICKSTART IT FOR THEM

Watch out Yelp. Three Dallas dudes are hoping a Kickstarter campaign will help them launch a new mobile app they’re calling Haiku Review. Stu Hill, Wes Hendrix and Brad Alesi are asking for $65,000 to help them build an application that will let users review restaurants in short prose.

It’s an interesting idea. Haiku and food belong together, and bounding user input with “brevity” as they put it, keeps things short and sweet. It also forces creativity. Another interesting angle is the lack of rating stars. When using the proposed app you either like the restaurant or you don’t, which is exactly how I think most of us view restaurants after eating in them. You either determine the place is worth another visit, or it’s not.

What do you guys think of the idea? Let us know in the comments below, 5-7-5 of course. And if you need some inspiration, here’s Alton Brown’s thoughts on pastrami and Led Zeppelin.

*Thanks to Foodbitch for the pseudo haiku.
