Well, Andy Uhler’s piece about Deep Ellum just aired on KUT-FM, and despite Jeff Liles’ earlier concerns, no, it wasn’t a story about how Austin’s so much better than Dallas. Fact is, Uhler was awfully respectful of the area’s musical legacy and its potential; if nothing else, the story serves as a nice history lesson for a neighborhood that may soon enough become history itself. Because did I just hear Barry Annino say “village”? Also, I am indeed outraged, so why does it sound like I need a nap? Damn you, NPR. –Robert Wilonsky
