Till I read this story, about London’s National Portrait Gallery and its attempt to secure one of Marc Quinn’s Self sculptures, I had no idea that the Dallas Museum of Art currently has a Quinn in storage. But, yes, turns out that the DMA, courtesy owners Cindy and Howard Rachofsky, does indeed have in the warehouse one of Quinn’s works — which happen to be made, every few years, from a cast using several pints of the artist’s blood.
