Willie Nelson is going to headline a free concert for U.S. Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke at Auditorium Shores in Austin on Sept. 29.

It’s an interesting headline – one that shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone, given Nelson’s history of support for marijuana legalization and his work for Farm Aid. Nelson already hauled O’Rourke, who used to play bass for the El Paso punk band Foss, onstage at the country star’s annual Fourth of July picnic to play along with “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die.”

“My wife Annie and I have met and spoken with Beto and we share his concern for the direction things are headed,” Nelson said in a press release. “Beto embodies what is special about Texas, an energy and an integrity that is completely genuine.”
