Couple of months back we noticed that the Museum of the American Railroad hadn’t pulled out of Fair Park as planned — or as stipulated by its agreement with the city of Dallas following the resolution of the lawsuit brought by the city in January 2010. Still not sure when the trains roll out — calls are out — but Justin was in Fair Park doing another shoot when he espied workers dismantling and loading up ol’ Tower 19 — a circa-1903 Santa Fe structure — which, per the museum’s website, has been taking place for the last couple of days. Says the museum:
The top floor will be lowered to the ground and placed on bogies (wheels). Weighing nearly 47,000 lbs., it contains the 105-lever “pistol grip” interlocking machine manufactured by General Railway Signal Company in 1952. The two floors are expected to begin the trip to Frisco Thursday evening (February 23).
Note to self: Call Justin back.
