In 65 days there will be football at Cowboys Stadium. And it will be before a sold-out crowd.

NFL lockout be damned, LSU and Oregon will play in the Cowboys Classic Sept. 3. With 80,000 tickets already sold, standing-room only seats could go on sale as early as next week.

Seems like LSU was just in Arlington for the 2011 Cotton Bowl, but the Tigers’ faithful have bought their allotment of 37,000 tickets while the Ducks gobbled up their 15,000.

Last year’s TCU-Oregon State game drew only 46,138. Either LSU-Oregon is a far more attractive matchup, or else we’re already making alternative football plans for the upcoming season.
