Coming to a station near you soon: The Ticket’s new head-to-head competition?
As his old bunkmates revel in ratings success, Greg Williams is angling to become one of The Ticket’s head-to-head rivals.
Though he’s been flirting with a weeknight gig at ESPN Radio for months, Live 105.3 is now the front-runner to land Williams, according to one of my industry sources.
With the station having parted ways with midday hosts Pugs & Kelly and looking for a sportier taste from Noon-3 p.m., Williams interviewed with station general manager David Henry last week and will this week go in for an audition alongside former KLIF talk-show host Mike Fisher.
Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If the Dallas Observer matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
Greggo & Fish vs. BaD Radio vs. Michael Irvin would be daytime delicious, no?
The source also said that, barring an escalation of the alleged IRS trouble, Russ Martin’s show appears safe for the time being. Also, be on the lookout for bigger and better things from Live 105.3 late-night host Big Dick Hunter.
As always, stay tuned. — Richie Whitt
