The Washington, D.C.-based Human Rights Campaign Foundation — which bills itself as “the nation’s largest gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization” — has released its list of the Best Places to Work 2008, and four local companies made the cut: American Airlines, GameStop, Brinker International and J.C. Penney.
For American Airlines, which got a perfect score on the HRCF’s ranking, it’s particularly good timing: The company, already a major player in marketing itself to the LGBT traveler, has launched a new ad campaign with a series of retro ads — though, as Queerty notes, “What gay man wears Hawaiian shirts? Not to mention socks with loafers.” In related news, Dirk Nowitzki has a wedding proposal to consider. –Robert Wilonsky
