We’re not huge fans of patting our own backs at Unfair Park; I know, that’s so hard to believe, right? So we’ll just accept the congratulations of our friends at FrontBurner, who make mention this afternoon of our weekend win at the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies conference, where Unfair Park was named best blog at a weekly with a circulation of 60,000-plus. The award goes to the entirety of the Dallas Observer staff — and, oh, Jack E. Jett. Sure, why not.
And while we’re on the subject of navel-gazing, let me offer this one suggestion: Never go on national television and think a harmless, throwaway joke about home-schooled kids will go unnoticed. Because it won’t. So please, nation, accept my apologies. I didn’t mean it, swear. –Robert Wilonsky
