Just last week we told you that Food and Wine was having a little Internet-based people’s choice chef extravaganza that featured not one, but two local chefs. Today, the magazine announced that Matt McCallister has won the Southwest region.
Food and Wine didn’t say how many votes McCallister (or any of the other chefs) received, but it’s hard to believe his strong online presence didn’t have something to do with his big win. The chef is known for his Facebook page, and just last year he ate a Yelper for breakfast
The chef has gone on to earn a four star review from Leslie Brenner at the Dallas Morning News, and another, favorable review from Nancy Nichols at D.
So, congratulations to Matt McCallister and his staff at FT33. I’ll bet there’s a festive kitchen in the Design District tonight.
