What you see above, of course, is the Chip’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers at 4501 Cole Avenue. Only, you won’t see it there for much longer: Late yesterday, Alison Lynn, who handles PR for the eatery, called with the news that the landlord is doubling rent and giving the burger joint the boot “within the next month or two,” Lynn tells Unfair Park. And rather than open in a different location, Chip’s will instead “offer catering … to replace that location,” Lynn says. Chip’s will keep open its second location at 4530 Lovers Lane, near the Dallas North Tollway. –Robert Wilonsky
