The Texas Travel Institute at Texas A&M has just released its long-awaited (?) 2007 Urban Mobility Report, and it says what anyone who drives in Dallas and the surrounding ‘burbs already knows: Traffic suuuuucks. Says here folks in the DFW are delayed by congestion some 58 hours per year, which puts us fifth on the list of the damn-damn-damned.
We’re also wasting nearly 40 gallons of gas annual, each of us, which puts us at No. 7 on the list. And it takes 27 minutes to drive 20 minutes’ worth of distance, so adjust your travel plans accordingly. –Robert Wilonsky
