Is Greater Good performing for…the greater good? (Matt Cooper)
According to the band’s Myspace site, local retro rockers Greater Good (whose new CD, Shake Till I Let You Go, was reviewed in this past week’s paper) supposedly played an event today that’s associated with the Democratic Convention currently taking place in Denver.
“Yes it’s true, we are playing the National Democratic Convention,” reads an event entry on the band’s Myspace blog. “We have joined up to support an organization called IAVA (Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America).”
The performance was set to take place at the Four Seasons Ballroom at the Denver Convention Center from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (or just a few minutes ago Central Time) and, get this, Michelle Obama was supposed to speak right before Greater Good took the stage!
No verification for this could be obtained from the band’s management, and neither the official convention page nor the host committee page lists the event in question. But if Greater Good did play the convention, congratulations all around. –Darryl Smyers
