Late Saturday, the Dallas Police Department sent word that, along with the Humane Society of the United States, it broke up an enormous cockfighting operation in Southeast Dallas. As it turns out, The Texas Tribune’s cameras accompanied DPD during the bust, which resulted in only a few arrests — since, of course, attending a cockfight or owning roosters for the purpose of cockfighting ain’t illegal in Texas. The just-posted video — a rather grim piece of filmmaking, as you’d expect, which contains some of the H.S.U.S. undercover footage that led to the bust in the first place — follows.
