Update: Just spoke with Kirk’s assistant at Vinson & Elkins, where he’s currently in a meeting with a client. But he will phone back as soon as he’s free to offer his thoughts on last night’s Obama victory. But he did have this to say to KERA-90.1 last night: “I think you’ve had the American people say, ‘Enough. Let’s sit down, work together, forget what color we are and work to solve these big problems.'”

Updatex2: At 4 this afternoon, I had a lengthy chat with Ron Kirk about the last 24 hours — and whether or not he’ll play any future role in a Barack Obama administration. That interview will appear on Unfair Park tomorrow.
