So, about that local TV news rumor to which I alluded below …
Earlier today we got a call that Troy Dungan, the longtime WFAA-Channel 8 weatherman who stepped down in July 2007 after 31 years on the air, has been seen loitering around the KTVT-Channel 11 studios in recent days, briefcase in hand. Which prompted us to wonder: Is the bow tie back? Easy enough to find out.
I called KTVT director of communications Lori Conrad and asked her what the what. She said she’d find out and call back, which she did a few minutes later.
“Troy will be appearing on CBS-11 on a one-time-only basis next month, but he will not be doing the weather,” she said. And, yes, next month means February — “mid-month-ish,” she said, not wanting to be too exact. “He’s scheduled to appear, tentatively, the week of February 14,” she said. Perhaps a Valentine’s Day tie-in? Win a Date With Troy?

“No,” she said, laughing, “but go with that. Actually, I do know what he’ll be doing, but I’m not going to tell you. Because I want you to watch and see. It’ll be fun.”
