This morning the Associated Press catches up with Dallas attorney Bill Brewer, who’s leading the legal charge against Farmers Branch’s efforts to keep illegal immigrants from renting apartments and houses in the suburb. Says Brewer, who was recruited into the battle in November 2006 by Adelfa Callejo, “Generating an antagonism between Anglos and Hispanics is not the way to go. This is a state, if it’s not already, will soon be, a state where the majority of the people in our community … are of Hispanic origin.” So far, the jury on the Houston Chronicle‘s Web site is not ruling in Bill Brewer’s favor. But I don’t think you can deport him just because he’s a Yankee.
