It’d be mighty hard to stay away from Mark Roberts’s Forest Lane Reunion scheduled to begin rolling down the road ’round 7 p.m. tomorrow. First, it’s about two miles from the house. And, I’m nothing if not a sucker for reliving the past. If only Lt. Col. Mike could make it — my little brother was the last of the Forest Lane Cruisers in the late ’80s, as evidenced by the brick wall he managed to take down whilst going 30 one night, or so he told the folks.
Like I said last night, more appropriate tunes are forthcoming for those who like to roll ’em down and crank it up. But Brother Danny Hurley, who’ll be shooting tomorrow night’s ride-along, sends a DFW cruisin’ round-up clipped from the June ’71 issue of Car Craft, which predates that Texas Monthly piece by a good 11 years.
