T Bone Burnett was raised in Fort Worth: He graduated from Paschal High School, started recording there in the 1960s (chiefly with Loose Ends, whose “He’s a Nobody” is a Texas garage-rock classic), played Panther Hall plenty and, only two years back, was the chair of the Lone Star International Film Festival’s honorary board. He also produced Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’s Grammy-winning Raising Sand and is the twosome’s guitarist and backup singer on tour. Which is why, on this final day of spring break and with the music staff in Austin for South by Southwest, I direct your attention to this just-unearthed Very Special Recording captured onstage last summer — the perfect soundtrack for a perfect day. If you’re into, oh, I dunno, music, maybe?
