Late yesterday we were alerted to “another catastrophic collapse in Deep Ellum,” as the headline reads over at Save Deep Ellum. Turns out that around 4 p.m. yesterday, “the bricks along the roof of 2932 Main came crumbling down upon Main St. [falling] from along the roof of the building which now houses Orange Salon.”
No one was hurt, but a crowd gathered to witness yet another bit of Deep Ellum self-destructing thanks to the rainy summer and decades of neglect. No photos as of yet over at Save Deep Ellum, but FrontBurner has one this morning. Bulldozers — they’re too slow, turns out. –Robert Wilonsky
