Seems some folks aren’t terribly pleased with the Dallas Zoo’s plans to move Jenny, the joint’s recently single African elephant, to the 617-acre Africam Safari Park in Puebla, Mexico, as was announced last week. A Friend of Unfair Park this morning sends word of Margaret Morin’s Concerned Citizens for Jenny, which is circulating a virtual flier that begs folks to call Mayor Tom, the city council and others in hopes they’ll reconsider sending Jenny south of the border.

Among the group’s reasons for fighting the move: “Jenny will be alone and isolated in Mexico” and “Jenny will have no legal protection in Mexico.” (And, of course, she does not speak the language.) Morin and PETA want the city to instead send Jenny to the much, much larger Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. –Robert Wilonsky
