Hey, it’s time to take whatever flipped-up-collar Polo-shirt snot-ball stereotypes you may still have about SMU students and toss them in the trash .. or at least store them in the closet for an emergency. The editorial board of the Daily Campus has named Bush library foes Bill McElvaney and Susanne Johnson, both professors at the university, as the newspaper’s “persons of the year.”

“Their courage to speak out against the George W. Bush Presidential Library complex triggered the discussion within the SMU community about what the project would do for our school,” the paper is saying in an editorial today. Looks like it’s just not Bill Clements’ SMU any more. –Jim Schutze
