Sunday night’s double-headlining pairing of Vetiver and The Clientele at the Granada Theater sure is an interesting one, pairing together two relatively somber acts that excel with retrospective takes on similar–but definitely not the same–genres. And, if you’re super-competitive, it’s like a do-over of the Revolutionary War–or maybe more appropriately the War of 1812–because, this sucker pits the United Kingdom (The Clientele) against our good ole U.S. of A. (Vetiver).

Actually, I think I’m with the Brits on this one: Vetiver’s deliberately paced folk sure can strike a melancholy mood with the best of ’em, but The Clientele’s oft-distorted retro-pop is pretty dreamy, y’all.

So, good thing the folks at the Granada Theater offered us a couple pairs of tickets to, in turn, offer you, the DC9 readers. And we’ll give a pair out to the first two people to email us with the words “The British Are Coming!” in the subject line–but only those first two, dammit. Good luck.

Update:
Contest is over. Congrats to our winners.
