Drake Sunday, Novemeber 10, at American Airlines Center Drake’s Take Care, earned him comparisons to Marvin Gaye for his obsession with lost love. We’ll see if he’s still got the magic with his forthcoming full-length, Nothing Was the Same, which will coincide with his U.S. tour this winter.

Help us continue giving back to Dallas.

$30,000

Between the Buried and Me, The Faceless, The Contortionist, Safety Fire Saturday, September 21, at House of Blues, $20/$25 I haven’t seen Between the Buried and Me since a Sounds of the Underground show in Dallas several years back, but I imagine they’re still just as good at their heavy, progressive metalcore as they ever were. Catch ’em this fall.

Queens of the Stone Age Saturday, October 5, at Verizon Theatre, $42.50-$49.50 Yep, you heard right! It took some time to fully confirm, but they’ve just announced that they’re playing here in Big D, the same weekend they’ll play ACL.

Franz Ferdinand Saturday, October 5, at House of Blues, $31.50 Scottish indie dudes Franz Ferdinand are making their way to the states for a tour that will take them through Dallas right after releasing their upcoming full-length, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.

The Eagles Saturday, October 12, at American Airlines Center Guess what! Tickets to The Eagles’ October 11 show at American Airlines sold out about a week or so back, but they just announced that they’ve added a second show for Dallas.

Atlas Genius, Family of the Year, The Colourist Thursday, October 24, at House of Blues, $22.50 As part of House of Blues’ “Ones to Watch” series, they’ve chosen to feature Australian indie rock duo Atlas Genius, who shouldn’t have too much help getting “watched,” since they’re, you know, signed to Warner Bros. Records and all.
