Which is to say: “A resident of east Dallas has become the season’s first victim of mosquito carried West Nile Virus.” That’s according to the City of Dallas media release that just dropped in our in-box in advance of an extensive mosquito spray-down scheduled for Tuesday night beginning at 10 and lasting into the wee hours of Wednesday — though, really, why wait? Regardless, for those who like to play in the cooling, minty mist released by the spray trucks, here’s your affected area: It’s bound by Carroll Avenue, R.L. Thornton Freeway, Garland Avenue, Graham Avenue/Beacon St., Abrams Road, Fulton Street, Junius Street, Beacon Street, Swiss Avenue, Fitzhugh Avenue and Gaston Avenue back to Carroll. I, of course, blame East Dallas’s own Jim Schutze. –Robert Wilonsky
