It might be on a smaller scale, but amidst all this to-do about The Burning Hotels’ appearance in the Vanessa Hudgens-fueled talkie Bandslam, let’s not forget: Another Fort Worth act got to the silver screen first. Last year’s AFI Dallas event saw two screenings of the film The Other Side of Paradise (see above trailer), which features not one, not two, but a whopping three songs from the phenomenal 2008 DOMA Best New Act-winning Whiskey Folk Ramblers.
Anyway, I bring up that news ’cause, for the first time since last year’s AFI Dallas, the film’s screening in the region, this time at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Lakewood Theater. You can buy your tickets in advance right here. Update: Ugh. I’m an idiot. The screening was on last Sunday. My bad.
Anyway, as for The Burning Hotels? The Star-Telegram‘s Preston Jones has the details on the release date for the band’s debut full-length, Novels.
