Independent Journalism in Dallas Needs You
We need to raise $12,500 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
The new restaurants just keep coming in Deep Ellum. The latest addition: Amsterdam Falafelshop, which opened today.
The new spot at 2651 Commerce St. is open for lunch, dinner and serves until midnight Sunday-Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Along falafel, the fast casual, vegetarian-friendly eatery serves up Mediterranean classics like shawarma, made with halal lamb “marinated for 24 hours in Middle Eastern spices, roasted and carved onsite,” according to a press release. Diners can pick from more than two dozen toppings, and the falafels and shawarma comes in either a bowl or pita. A permit to sell draft beer is in the works, according to the release.
