Smile Smile’s Jencey Hirunrusme made the best of the way-too-hot weather at the AT&T Performing Arts Center patio during yesterday evening’s DC9-sponsored free show, as the sun beat down on the keyboardist/vocalist and the rest of her indie-pop outfit.
“I’m getting a suntan,” she joked to the crowd watchig her band’s set. “I’ll no longer look like a vampire!”
Together, she, guitarist/vocalist Ryan Hamilton and drummer John Solis created a soothing oasis amidst rush-hour downtown, playing sweet, soulful set for an attentive afternoon crowd.
Those who braved the heat were in for a treat; the outdoor stage provided a perfect, family-friendly setting for Smiles Time Two’s sound.
