Giveaway: Two Pairs of Tickets to See The Raveonettes Tonight At The Granada Theater

In this week’s paper, Daniel Hopkins caught up with Sune Rose Wagner of The Raveonettes, and discovered that the male half of the Danish duo is, like, totally bummed about not being as close to his partner-in-crime Sharin Foo as he used to be. Sad face.

Fortunately, there’s a silver lining in all this misery: The distance between Wagner and Foo has resulted in the band’s darkest offerings to date, as heard on their pretty incredible new release, Raven in the Grave. And, in this case, as Hopkins writes, darker indeed means better:

“Apparitions” is a bleak, goth-inspired track that paints Wagner as a
ghost of a past love. On “Summer Moon,” Foo proves her unmatched ability
to make love’s bitter end sound sweet. But on “Recharge and Revolt,”
the new-wavy album opener, the band sounds triumphant, suggesting that
the end isn’t near, despite the allusion from the album’s title. Continue reading…

And, now that the band is back on the road, they don’t have to worry about not seeing each other any more — because they see each other every night now, as they will this evening, too, when they play the Granada Theater in what should be a pretty killer show.
