Buke and Gase
Saturday, October 6, at City Tavern, $7/$10
An NPR favorite, Brooklyn duo Buke and Gase will be folkin’ it up with Fox and the Bird and Roberto Moreno this weekend. All I’m going to say is that there will be handmade ukulele instruments involved. ‘Nough said.
Deftones
Wednesday, November 14, at Palladium Ballroom, $28.75
Deftones showed Dallas some major love in 2010, when they chose Trees as the venue for their Diamond Eyes CD release show. Let’s show ’em some big Dallas love back while tickets are cheap.
P.O.S.
Sunday, November 18, at The Loft, $14/$17
When P.O.S. performed with Dessa and Astronautalis two years ago, they nearly blew the roof off Hailey’s Club. Same deal when Doomtree hit Dan’s Silverleaf earlier this year. I can only imagine what he’ll do with Bad Rabbits at The Loft.
Marina & The Diamonds
Wednesday, December 19, at Granada Theater, $20-$38
Listen to her song “How To Be A Heartbreaker” once and it nestles itself deep in your cerebellum somewhere, only to reemerge in your shower or while picking up your dry cleaning. Her stuff is that catchy.
This Will Destroy You, True Widow
Friday, December 21, at Granada Theater, $15
This band’s cinematic rock, coupled with local opener True Widow, will certainly destroy any fear you have regarding the pending apocalypse.
