We just found out Denton’s Inner City All Stars have been tapped to open for Rebirth Brass Band at the House of Blues Oct. 7. If you haven’t seen this crew before, there is no doubt in my mind they’ll blow the headliners off the stage. This is an old-school funk crew, as in dropping the beat on the one, as in long, extended brass jams and impromptu raps and as in grooves as infectious as a good case of avian flu. Get tickets now through House of Blues or Ticketmaster (booooooo!). Twenty bucks gets you in the doors at 8 p.m. Wear comfortable shoes, cuz you’ll be on your feet all night. — Jonanna Widner
